On Aug 3, 2014, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck off Ludian county in China's southwestern Yunnan province. On hearing the news, Yitai Group immediately held a board meeting and decided to donate 10 million Yuan to support the disaster relief. The donation was remitted to the account designated by the Red Cross Society of China on August 6, 2014.

On the afternoon of August 15, the Red Cross Society of China held a donation ceremony in Beijing for the disaster relief of earthquake stricken areas in Ludian. Vice Chairman of the 11th CPCCC and Honorary Chairman of the Red Cross Society of China Li Jinhua received the donation on behalf of the organization. He also presented a charity medal to Yitai Group and other enterprises that have donated for the disaster relief.
